How It Works
- Hardware Measurement mode (requires the Python backend):
- Mouse Reports Sent is read from the USB descriptor
bInterval via Linux sysfs. This is the polling rate the mouse negotiated with the USB host controller — real hardware data, not an estimate.
- Reports Received by OS is measured from raw
evdev event timestamps in the kernel. This reflects the actual rate at which the OS delivers reports to userspace.
- If Received is lower than Sent, the OS/USB path is dropping or delaying reports.
- Simulation mode (standalone page with no server): the UI demonstrates the tool's behavior using synthetic data. No real mouse is measured.
- Move your mouse continuously in circles for the most accurate hardware measurement.
- Works with both wired and wireless mice on standard Linux hardware.
